Chasing the Shadow of Hope
When you were a child did you ever chase your shadow? The sun at your back and your shadow running in front of you and for some reason it was fun to run and jump right into your shadow. It didn't make a splash like a puddle. It did, however, elude you. Try as you might, you just couldn't quite catch it. The fun was in the trying, but after a while, it got old and you wanted something you could touch and feel. Hope is much like your shadow. You play with it, chase it, you do everything you can do to catch it, but just like chasing pretty rainbows, you get tired of the chase and rest on what you can see. But did you know, if you get down on your knees and bow your head you can touch your shadow? Did you know you can touch hope? You touch it with faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (KJV) Faith: the support for hope. Awesome!
