The Suddenlies of Life

Are we waiting with breathless expectancy for each and every plan to unfold before we make a move forward? Here is some solid advice from the hesitator of many suddenlies. Don’t hold your breath. Uncertainty in life is as sure as death and taxes. I am a person who likes planned events. ABC, 123 is a great plan, but as I have looked back over events that seemed difficult in my life, I see that the unprepared, the suddenlies that came from God's nudges were unmistakably His handy work. It is in the "wows” of life we find muscle power we didn’t know we had. There is spiritual adrenaline that will compel us forward when we are at our weakness moment. In those moments, we receive a “second wind” to run the race of life. Once we catch up with our "look up", we will find the fingerprint of God touching all we do. The "suddenlies" of life

  • Act 2:2 Suddenly there was a noise from heaven like the sound of a mighty wind! It filled the house where they were meeting.

  • Act 9:3 When Saul had almost reached Damascus, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around him.

  • Act 16:26 Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the jail to its foundations. The doors opened, and the chains fell from all the prisoners.

Have you ever had your plans in life change "suddenly"? Did that make you feel insecure or fearful? If you could draw a comic strip of the events that suddenly happened, do you see any place you could have reacted differently to resolve the situation in a godly manner? Did God's GPS give you a warning that you needed to recalculate? A think about In the above scriptures we find three action words that give us a hint on how to handle life's suddenlies: Sound (hear) mighty wind (Holy Spirit warning) Light (see) flashing (The Revelation in the Scriptures of direction) Shaking (we experience) foundations (doors and chains broken) (God's provision)
